My Philosophy

I don’t believe in stiffly posed photos. I don’t believe in children dressed in uncomfortable 3 piece suits when they are used to wearing shorts and a t-shirt every day.  I don’t believe in making children sit still and say “cheese”  in a cramped studio.  I don’t believe in parents worried their money will be wasted because their child is cranky or uncooperative. I don’t believe in time limits, or a set number of poses.

I believe in making photo sessions  a fun experience where the smiles are genuine, and not fake and forced. I believe in taking my time to get you comfortable in front of the camera.  I believe in being patient and flexible with squirrely 2 year olds, and hungry babies. I believe in facilitating fun moments for families to be themselves in front of the camera.

I believe the entire process of getting your portraits should be easy. I believe I should give you guidance in choosing a location and help in choosing wardrobe if you need it.  After the session I believe the ordering process should be done at your leisure at home with lots of guidance from me if you need it.  When your order arrives everything should be of the finest quality, and beautifully wrapped. I believe in helping you in any way I can , and giving you excellent service.  Most of all I believe in creating portraits that stand the test of time and trendy fads.  You should leave with art that fills your heart with happiness and love.

Pricing

Custom photography is a wonderful investment. It’s the kind of thing you hope to keep forever, and pass down to your children. It’s one of the only things you make sure you grab in case of an emergency, and you have to get out of your house in a hurry. It cannot be replaced.

My session fee is $175.00, and includes a 1-2 hour on-location session.  It is good for one immediate family. Each additional person is $25.00.  Two to three weeks after your session you will receive a private online gallery of at least 25 (usually many more) hand crafted photographs presented in color and black and white. This gallery is available for 1 week for your ordering convenience from home. Travel to sessions within 40 miles of Thousand Oaks, California is included.  Anything further will require a reasonable travel fee. The session fee does not include printed or digital photos which are purchased separately.

I offer a la cart pricing starting at $20.00 as well as my popular portrait collections which begin at $550. I am pleased to offer digital files, prints, albums, gift albums, holiday and greeting cards, announcements, and gallery canvas wraps.
