Good News

I first became enamored with photography when my children were born. I looked at their faces, and had such a strong desire to freeze time. I never wanted to forget their chubby cheeks, big eyes, and sweet expressions. I wanted to have as many photographs of them as possible, but the pictures I could take with my camera just weren’t good enough for me. I began to google photography tips, bought photography books, and took pictures as much as I could. I enrolled in local classes, and began to learn photoshop. I couldn’t get enough knowledge into my brain about photography. It became an obsession.

My husband saw me spending every free minute learning, and was kind enough to buy me my first dslr camera. It was refurbished, and not the latest model, but we were on a strict budget. I researched lenses for a long time, and when I bought my first quality lens I was so nervous about spending that kind of money, but also more excited than I’ve ever been about a purchase. I could finally do all of the things I’d learned about.

Fast forward to today. My children are teenagers, or full grown adults. I have volumes of books filled with photographs of them growing up. I also have had my own photography business for well over a decade now. It was not something I ever saw myself doing, but it has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’m incredibly thankful for it.

I recently learned that I placed second in the 2022 NAPCP International Image Competition in the Siblings category. You can see all of the winners HERE. I also was named one of the best Newborn Photographers in Los Angeles by Expertise.com.

Competitions aren’t the most rewarding part of my photography business, even though it sure feels good to be recognized. More important to me is creating images that are truly meaningful to my clients. I want them to have images that bring them joy for a lifetime.
